        The 1st National Summer School in Sanskrit Computational Linguistics-2025 (NSS-SCL-2025) is scheduled at the Department of Sanskrit, University of Delhi, Delhi, from May 26th to June 10th, 2025. The school's primary goal is to introduce participants to the basic concepts of Sanskrit Computational Linguistics and contemporary research within the domain of Sanskrit Computational Linguistics and Language Technology. The summer school is designed to be project-oriented, along with hands-on training, lecture series, presentations, and demonstrations. Instructors will provide an overview and introduction to several topics in line with the theme to inculcate the basic concepts of SCL. All the participants will choose a project at the beginning of the school and be mentored during the two weeks. The project's outcome will be demonstrated and presented on the concluding day of the summer school.

Format of the Summer School:

The Summer School revolves around a small project. Each day, lectures occupy the first half of the day, where participants are introduced to the concepts and/or tools necessary for the project. Afterwards, participants should work on the project while interacting with mentors.

Who can participate:

This summer school is open to students (UG/PG) and researchers with a basic understanding of linguistics or Sanskrit.
No prior knowledge of Computer Science is required.
Participants should have a Laptop computer.
NSS-SCL-2025 will be helpful to students and researchers who want to get into NLP. They would be able to work on research projects during summer school and contribute even after the tools developed by the participants are over. They will be hosted at https://cl.sanskrit.du.ac.in .

Registration Fee:

Participants must pay a non-refundable registration fee upon acceptance into the summer school to confirm participation.
        Research Scholars: Rs. 1,500/- + GST @18% = Rs. 1770/-
        PG/UG Student: Rs. 1,000/-+ GST @18% = Rs. 1180/-

        Bank details for Payment will be released along with notification of acceptance.
Financial Support: In special and deserving cases, up to two participants can be given Financial support to meet the registration fee. Please email schandra@sanskrit.du.ac.in to apply for Financial support after acceptance. Participants must get an ID card issued by their institute, which will be required during the physical registration.

Seats are limited (only 20 participants). It can be decreased or increased if needed, so apply early!
